Join us for a beginner Kundalini Yoga & Meditation class with Kelly Mathews at Moksha Center! We will use the tools of breath, mantra, movement, and meditation to cultivate more energy, focus, and ease in the body and the mind.


Kundalini Yoga is known as the yoga of awareness. It has the ability to enliven the essence of who you are—and thus strengthen connection and understanding of yourself, other people, and the world around you. 


Classes often focus on the breath, spine mobility and strengthening the nervous system. In doing so, we move stagnant energy in the body, form new thought patterns, and can show up in the world happier, healthier, and more radiant!


You will likely find this type of yoga different than other types of yoga. The practice is much less about flexibility and more about being present with yourself. It is suitable for all bodies and abilities.


Class Overview:

  • An introduction to Kundalini Yoga (10 minutes)

  • Basic Sitting Meditation and Tuning-in (10 minutes)

  • Kriya, aka Physical Practice (35 minutes)

  • Deep Relaxation (15 minutes)

  • Meditation (10 minutes)

  • After Class - sharing, chatting, and enjoying homemade yogi tea together

Things to bring and best practices:

  • Bring a yoga mat and cushion/firm pillow, blanket to shawl, water

  • Try to come with a fairy empty stomach or only eat light prior to class. Please let Kelly know of any physical limitations before class, so she can provide you with great modifications.

About the teacher:


Kelly Mathews completed a 200-hour Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training just outside of Santa Fe, New Mexico. Over the last few years, she has taught 150+ classes to both beginners and advanced practitioners. The practice has supported her in resolving chronic digestive issues, anxiety, and a fragile sense of self. She is infinitely grateful to have cultivated trust in her own inner guidance and her body’s ability to heal… and what that has opened up in her life. She also launched her business as a web designer, writer, and marketing strategist after completing yoga teacher training, and is passionate about helping people live purpose-driven lives through entrepreneurship. Kelly is passionate about all things natural health and remembering our connection with nature and how-to live-in harmony with it.
